Neighbourhood
We live in a quiet, largely equestrian neighbourhood, classified as a nature conservancy. It is beautiful and peaceful and out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Weaver Lane in particular, is very secluded, with its winding country lane ending in a cul de sac, and very little traffic. Weaver’s Nest is, however, also ideally located to experience the very best that Port Elizabeth and the Eastern Cape has to offer! From the bush to the beach or to the amenities of our beloved city, you need not travel far to have a taste of them all!
Here are a few of my favourite recommendations should you wish to venture out:

Space
Weaver’s Nest is the perfect combination of luxury and nature.
Built on the foundation of an old labourers cottage, with eco consciousness and sustainability as a core focus, we have created a cozy space that invites the feel of the outside in. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms are all tastefully decorated in natural tones and textures with accents of forest green. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and sliding doors that open to the wraparound deck and beautiful bush and tees. The “Treehouse suite” is a second loft-style bedroom, accessed by a ladder-type staircase. This room boasts the best view in the nest, with large windows overlooking the surround bush and valley. A birdwatchers hideaway! It also includes a large and stylish, dedicated workspace for those needing a quiet space to work. The second bathroom is on the ground floor, just off a small alcove leading from the lounge area.
The lounge and kitchen are light, open spaces with rustic floors and live edge wood shelves and a statement kitchen island. The kitchen is fully equipped for all culinary needs. Stack-away doors open up to the covered deck, leading onto an outside entertainment area, which boasts a cozy fire pit, seating and dining facilities . In addition the wood-fired hot tub invites you to relax and unwind under the stars!

Our property is “off the grid” and we rely entirely on borehole and rain water. The borehole water is treated via a reverse osmosis system (RO), and all water flowing out of the indoor taps is completely safe to drink, shower in and use for food preparation.
We are equipped with solar panels to generate power for the property, as well as a generator, for “just in case” back up.
Therefore load shedding is not an issue, and security measures cannot be breached.
We are very security conscious and want you to have peace of mind and feel relaxed and secure during your stay at Weaver’s Nest.
To this end we have the the entire 1.8 HA property enclosed by electric fencing.
In addition, all exit and entrance points to the entire property are monitored by top of the range CCTV cameras.
We subscribe to Dark Water Ops, our security company, based here in Sardinia Bay, who are on call 24/7 and are extremely responsive.
We also have 2 beautiful, friendly dogs that are always on alert! (though they will not be permitted to enter the Weaver’s Nest area without invitation)
Weaver’s Nest is an eco-conscious establishment and we endeavour, as far as reasonably possible, to operate sustainably. We use borehole water, solar energy, little to no single-use plastic and a wood fired hot tub instead of electricity. We recycle and compost waste and make provision for guests to do so if they wish.
Please note that if you would like the hot tub pre-heated for your convenience, we would need prior notice as it takes 3 hours to reach ideal temperature (wood-fired)
Instructions for the hot tub are available in the House Manual
